전 안드라 프라데시주 주지사였고 현재 인도의 야당인 텔루구데삼당의 수장을 맡고 있는 찬드라바부 나이두(Chandrababu Naidu)는 트위터에 이번 괴질을 <엘룰루 수질오염사건>이라고 규정한뒤 이 사태의 해결을 위해 보건비상사태를 선언할 것을 촉구했다.

그만큼 엘루루(Eluru) 사건은 빙산의 일각에 불과합니다. 정부의 과실과 AP 전반에 걸친 의료 서비스의 악화가 오늘 드러났습니다. 우리 국민에게 안전하고 깨끗한 식수와 같은 기본적인 필수품을 제공할 수 없다면 모든 정부에게 부끄러운 일입니다.
